Temperature and atmosphere controllers
A plug in temperature controller switches a heater or a cooling device on and off at the set point, with separate models for heating and cooling. Atmosphere controllers manage several outlets from one unit, coordinating ventilation with temperature and humidity.
Fan speed controllers
A variable speed controller dials a fan or other motor from zero to full speed, which cuts noise and lets you hold negative pressure without over ventilating. Thermostatic models speed the fan up as the room warms and slow it as it cools. Standard controllers handle motors up to 15 amps and are not suitable for soft start motors.
Monitors
Hygrometers with a remote probe and wireless weather stations record temperature and humidity at canopy level, including highs and lows while you are away.
Climate Controllers & Fan Speed Controllers FAQ
Will a speed controller work with my fan?
It works with most standard AC motors up to 15 amps. It does not work with soft start or EC motors, which need their own controller.
Where should I place the temperature probe?
At canopy height, shaded from direct light, in moving air. That is the temperature the plants experience.
Heating or cooling controller?
They switch in opposite directions. A cooling controller turns equipment on above the set point, and a heating controller turns it on below.
