Purging and recovery
A vacuum oven removes residual solvent at low temperature under vacuum. Stainless steel chambers, a viewing window and shelf trays are standard, sized by chamber volume in cubic feet. Rotary evaporators in 20 and 50 liter sizes recover solvent gently under vacuum, and a falling film evaporator does the same job at much higher throughput. Pair either with a rotary vane vacuum pump.
Distillation, filtration and cooling
Short path distillation kits in 5 and 10 liter separate compounds by boiling point under deep vacuum. Vacuum filters in 20 and 50 liter clarify solutions between steps. Recirculating chillers supply cold fluid to condensers and jacketed vessels, and are named by capacity in liters and lowest temperature, so a 10/40 unit holds 10 liters and reaches minus 40 degrees Celsius.
Lab Equipment FAQ
What size vacuum oven do I need?
Size by shelf area, since material is purged in thin layers. A larger chamber with more shelves processes more per cycle.
What does a recirculating chiller do?
It pumps cold fluid through a condenser or jacket to remove heat, which is what makes solvent recovery and distillation efficient.
Is this equipment special order?
Some large items ship by freight or are built to order. Check the product page for lead time.
