Net pots and mesh lids
Net pots hold the plant and the media while roots grow out through the mesh into the solution. Net cups come in 2, 3, 3.75, 5 and 6 inch, in packs of 24 or 48. Mesh pot bucket lids in 6 and 8 inch combine the net pot and the lid in one piece and snap onto a standard bucket, in round and square versions.
Grow lids
Grow lids cover the surface of the media around the stem. Blocking light at the surface limits algae and fungus gnats and slows evaporation. Round lids come in 4.5, 6.5, 8.5 and 10 inch and square lids in 3, 4, 6 and 8 inch, 40 per pack.
Net Pots & Grow Lids FAQ
What size net pot should I use?
2 and 3 inch for cloning, lettuce and herbs, 3.75 to 5 inch for most plants, and 6 inch or bucket lids for large plants in deep water culture.
What media goes in a net pot?
Expanded clay pebbles are the standard. A starter plug or rockwool cube sits in the middle of the pebbles.
Why cover the top of the pot?
Light on wet media grows algae and attracts fungus gnats. A lid blocks the light and reduces evaporation.
