Warm roots, faster starts
A heat mat lifts the tray about 10 to 20 degrees above the surrounding air. Seeds germinate faster and more evenly, and cuttings root sooner. Mats are waterproof and sized to the standard flat: single tray, double tray and larger bench sizes.
Daisy chain mats
The master mat plugs into the outlet and each add on mat plugs into the last, so one cord runs a whole bench. Pair any mat with a thermostat to hold an exact root zone temperature.
Seedling Heat Mats FAQ
What temperature should a heat mat run?
Aim for a root zone of 75 to 80 degrees Fahrenheit. Use a thermostat with a probe in the tray to hold it.
Can a heat mat get wet?
The mats are waterproof, but keep the plug and connections dry.
Do I need a thermostat?
Recommended. Without one a mat runs at full output and can overheat a tray in a warm room.
