Choosing a tent size
Size the tent to the light, not the other way round. A 2 by 2 suits one plant or a mother, a 4 by 4 is the most common footprint for a single fixture, and 5 by 5 and larger hold several plants or a commercial style bench. Height matters as much as footprint: extension poles add room for tall plants and for hanging a fixture and filter above them. See Grow Tents.
Veg and flower in one tent
Dual chamber tents split the space with a divider so cuttings and mothers sit under veg lighting on one side while plants flower on the other, each on its own schedule. Clone Tents & Boxes are small tents and boxes sized for a cloner or a tray of seedlings.
Keeping a tent light tight
Zippers are the wear point. Tent Accessories covers replacement canvas, adhesive zipper doors that turn any opening into a sealed entry, and tarp zippers.
Grow Tents FAQ
What size tent for one plant?
A 2 by 2 or 2 by 4. Allow height for the light and the plant's stretch in flower.
What comes with a grow tent?
The frame, the canvas with ports and vents, and hanging bars. Lights, fans and filters are bought separately.
How do I keep a tent cool?
An inline fan pulling through a carbon filter at the top, an intake low on the opposite side and a circulation fan inside.
Are these tents light proof?
Yes. Thick canvas with a reflective interior and light baffled vents. Close the vent socks and zippers fully during the dark period.
Can I run veg and flower in the same tent?
In a dual chamber tent, yes. In a single chamber, the whole tent runs one light schedule.
