Choosing a punch
Match the punch to the barb of the dripper or fitting you are installing. 3mm punches suit barbed drippers and 5mm micro tubing connectors, and larger 8mm and 1/4 inch punches suit larger barbed take-offs. A sharp punch removes a clean plug of material instead of tearing the tubing, which prevents leaks around the barb.
Insertion tools
The Netafim self piercing emitter insertion tool holds a self piercing dripper and drives it through the tubing wall in one motion, which removes the separate punching step on large installs.
