Solventless extraction
Solventless methods separate resin using only water, ice, agitation, screens, heat and pressure.
- Ice water: Bubble Bags & Wash Machines wash plant material in ice water and catch the resin in a stack of filter bags graded by micron.
- Dry sift: Mesh Screens & Pollen Tumblers separate resin from dry material by tumbling or sieving across stainless mesh.
- Rosin: Rosin Bags & Presses hold hash or flower while heat and pressure squeeze out the oil.
Understanding micron sizes
A micron is one thousandth of a millimeter, and the micron rating of a bag or screen is the size of its openings. Large openings such as 190 to 220 micron catch plant debris and let resin pass. The 73 to 120 micron range collects the highest quality resin heads. Fine bags such as 25 and 45 micron catch the smallest particles at the bottom of the stack. Running a full set of bags separates a wash into grades.
The processing lab
Lab Glassware handles measuring, mixing and storage. Lab Solvents are supplied in lab and high purity grades for cleaning and licensed processing. Lab Equipment covers solvent recovery, purging, distillation and temperature control.
Extraction Equipment & Lab Supplies FAQ
What micron bag is best for hash?
The 73 to 120 micron bags usually hold the best quality. Collect each bag separately and compare, since the ideal range varies by cultivar.
How many bubble bags do I need?
A 4 or 5 bag kit covers a basic wash. An 8 bag kit separates more grades and gives more control over quality.
What micron rosin bag should I use?
Around 25 to 37 micron for hash and sift, and 90 to 160 micron for flower, which needs more flow.
What is the difference between dry sift and bubble hash?
Dry sift separates resin from dry material across screens. Bubble hash uses ice water and agitation, then filters through micron bags.
Are solvents restricted?
Flammable solvents are for professional use in properly ventilated, code compliant facilities, and extraction with them is regulated. Follow local law and the safety data sheet.
