Laminar flow hoods
A laminar flow hood pushes HEPA filtered air across the work surface in a smooth stream, so nothing airborne lands on an open plate, jar or cut. That is what makes tissue culture and mushroom inoculation repeatable outside a full lab. Desktop, large and XL widths cover a single operator up to a production bench, and UV sanitizes the surface between sessions.
Tools and substrates
An infrared sterilizer heats a scalpel or loop to sterile in seconds without a flame. Disposable scalpels avoid cross contamination between cuts. Grain bags and all in one substrate bags arrive sterilized and ready to inoculate.
Mycology & Tissue Culture Supplies FAQ
Do I need a flow hood for mushroom growing?
For agar work and grain inoculation it makes a large difference in contamination rates. Simple grow bags can be started without one.
How often does the HEPA filter need replacing?
Typically every one to two years depending on hours of use and the cleanliness of the room.
What is an all in one grow bag?
A sterilized bag with substrate already mixed. Inoculate through the injection port, seal and wait.
