Ties and clips
Soft tie has a padded coating over a wire core, so it holds a branch firmly without cutting into it as the stem thickens. Twist tie is the thin, fast version for light work. Plant clips snap a stem to a stake or line in one motion and reopen for reuse, and vine clips and holders do the same on overhead string systems.
Tape gun tying tools
A tape gun wraps a loop of tape around the branch and the support, staples it and cuts it in a single squeeze. It ties hard to reach branches quickly and is the fastest method for large plant counts. Refill tape, staples and blades are sold separately.
Labels
Stake labels push into the pot and take pencil or marker. Packs of 1,000 come in single colors and in mixed colors, which makes it easy to code cultivars, dates or treatments at a glance.
Plant Ties, Clips & Labels FAQ
What is the best tie for plant training?
Soft tie. The padded coating spreads pressure so it does not scar the stem, and it can be repositioned as the plant grows.
Are plant clips reusable?
Yes. They open and close many times, and can be sanitized between crops.
What pen works on plant labels?
Pencil or a UV resistant garden marker. Ordinary permanent marker fades in sun and under grow lights.
