Description

Wiggle Worm Pure Worm Castings Organic Fertilizer 4.5lbs

Wiggle Worm Pure Worm Castings is an OMRI-listed organic fertilizer and soil amendment made from 100% pure earthworm castings, not vermicompost or leftover bedding. Wiggle Worm Pure Worm Castings are 100% pure earthworm castings, harvested and screened so the bag contains castings only, not vermicompost or uneaten worm bedding. OMRI Listed for organic production, they are a gentle, non-burning fertilizer and soil amendment for vegetables, flowers, herbs, houseplants, lawns, and container gardens, indoors or out.

Because the nutrients are already broken down by earthworms into plant-available forms, a little goes a long way. The fine, football-shaped particles open up soil, improve drainage in heavy mixes, and help lighter soils hold moisture. They also support beneficial microbes around the root zone, which encourages stronger roots and healthier growth. Odorless and non-toxic, they are easy to use in living spaces, greenhouses, and outdoor beds.

How To Use

  • Vegetables and annuals: Line the planting hole or furrow with 1–2 inches, then plant and cover. Side-dress with about 1/2 cup per plant every 2 months.
  • Containers: Mix 1 part castings to 4 parts soil. For established plants, top-dress about 1 inch and work in lightly. Repeat every 2–3 months.
  • Perennials: Work 1/2 cup into the soil above the root zone in spring, early summer, and early fall. Avoid damaging shallow roots.
  • Roses, trees, shrubs, and berries: For new plantings, mix 1 part castings to 3 parts soil in the hole. For established plants, spread about 2 lb per inch of trunk diameter over the root area and water in.
  • Lawns: 20–30 lb per 1,000 sq. ft. worked into the soil before seeding, or 15–20 lb per 1,000 sq. ft. as a top-dress 2–3 times a year.
  • Casting tea: Soak 1 part castings in 3 parts water for 12–24 hours. Aerate if possible, stir, and use within 24 hours.
  • Compost: Spread a thin layer between each new layer of material.
